Who are We?
MoneyForYourBoat.com is a family business with deep roots of over 30 years in the boating industry. Mark Lassila, father, started buying and selling boat's in the mid 80s as a way to make extra money during High School. In just a few short years, Mark built a business as one of the top boat exporters in the country. Marine Connection, Mark's boat dealership, saw dynamic growth in the 90s and 2000s as a new boat dealership and was named Boat Dealer of the Year in 2008. Shortly after, Mark sold Marine Connection to focus on his family and two growing boys.
When Mark's boys, Nick and Alex, started developing an itch for a business of their own, they took after their father's footsteps and with him formed MoneyForYourBoat.com. Now days they are in search of used boats in good condition, tired and neglected boats - or those that customers simply don't have the time to enjoy anymore. After some TLC, boats are sold to wholesale customers both local and international.
Mark Lassila
Mark was born in Manhattan, New York and moved to Florida in 1973.
Mark’s career in the marine industry began in 1987 when he founded Marine Connection, Inc. in Lake Worth, Florida. He went on to become the #1 pre-owned boat exporter in the country for eight straight years. In 2008 he lead Marine Connection to be named the Top Boat Dealership in the nation.
Mark's goal has always been to lead with an honest, straight-forward, no-nonsense approach insuring customer satisfaction.
Mark is an avid New York Yankees fan, and enjoys boating and fishing with his family. His whole family serves and worships at Coastal Chapel in Lake Worth, FL. Mark has been married to his wife Johanna for 29 years and they have four children. Mark enjoys working with his sons in building the family business and grooming them to one day take over the reins.
Alex Lassila
Alex grew up in Lake Worth, Florida and was introduced to the water by his parents around the time he could walk. He is very athletic and played baseball and football in his younger years. He has always been drawn to the water and enjoys fishing and boating. He is a very passionate Offshore fisherman and wants to pursue his Captain's License. Being the son of Mark Lassila, Alex learned at a very young age the values of honesty, work ethic and helping others. Alex was homeschooled by his mother, and after graduating convinced his father, Mark, to come out of retirement and start a new family business with him and his brother Nick. Alex oversees the Logistics and Coordinating, picking up boats by road and water.
Nick Lassila
Nick grew up in Lake Worth, Florida and was basically brought up on the water. He was homeschooled along with his brother Alex, which afforded him to implement boating, fishing and all things marine into his studies. Growing up in a family where boating was more than just an activity but also the family's livelihood, he gained a love for the water at a very young age and quickly found his niche in fishing and so began his offshore adventures as a teenager. He enjoys freshwater fishing as well as offshore hunting for the big ones. His other interests are wildlife, the outdoors and traveling. Nick has a great sense of humor and loves to make people laugh. Having a keen memory, an eye for details and a very observant personality he is well placed in overseeing the marketing and purchasing/valuation department. Nick is growth oriented, and looks forward to the company's fast expansion.
